Focus Article: Glass Epoxy Material

Norplex-Micarta’s new Changzhou factory will produce a variety of versatile, high-quality glass epoxy laminates for use in demanding applications.

Norplex-Micarta offers several grades of thermoset composite material combining epoxy resin systems with glass fabric substrates. These combinations yield thermoset composites with superior physical properties and outstanding performance in both low and high-temperature environments for use in electronics, aerospace, power generation, and the oil and gas industry.

Our epoxy glass material is manufactured in a multi-stage process that uses both heat and pressure to consistently produce high-quality pre-preg and finished laminate. The Changzhou manufacturing facility can produce both pre-preg and finished sheets wider and thicker than industry standards, and is also capable of fabricating shapes to meet customer needs.

Highlights and capabilities of Norplex-Micarta’s glass epoxy laminates:

       •    Excellent electrical insulation

       •    Electrostatic discharge (ESD) and conductive capabilities
